Renton Little League, under a charter authorized by Little League International, fields structured youth baseball and softball programs for youths between the ages of 5 and 18 years of age. Renton Little League's mission is to teach the rules and strategies of the game and to create an environment for the youth of our community in which they learn the ideals of good sportsmanship, loyalty, courage, and respect. This mission is achieved by providing a supervised program of competative baseball / softball games under the rules and policies established by Washington State Little league District 7 and the Renton Little League Board of Directors.
The program provides regular season baseball, softball, and t-ball teams as well as tournament teams and All-Stars. These tournament teams are comprised of:
- 9-10 year old -- Baseball and Softball
- 11 year old -- Baseball and Softball
- Little League Majors -- Baseball and Softball
- Junior League -- Baseball and Softball
- Senior League -- Baseball
- Big League -- Baseball
Our yearly activities begin with the election of the Board of Directors at the league’s General Membership Meeting in October. In-person registration begins in January. Try-outs / assessments are in February & early March and games begin in mid April. Our season ends in the middle of June. In late June we feature District 7’s Tournament of Champions and then the District All-Star Tournaments. Renton Little League also features a Fall Ball program with emphasis on learning and development. Our games in Fall Ball are played with other District 7 Fall Ball teams.
The City of Renton, located along the south shore of Lake Washington, is a lakefront city offering spectacular views of the Olympics, the Cascades, and Mount Rainier. Softball
The Renton Little League softball program is split in to three divisions (described below). Renton Little League will not be able to offer the softball program this season. If you have questions or need assistance please email our League President. - Minors : Ages 7 - 12
- Players learn the basic skills and rules of fastpitch softball, including pitching underhand. There are approximately 16 regular season games and a post season tournament. Regular season interlock games within District 7. Teams travel up to 20 miles for these games.
- Majors : Ages 9 - 12
- The Majors division is a competative division. The players improve upon the skills that they learned in the Minors division and learn the windmill pitching motion. There are approximately 16 regular season games and a post season tournament. Regular season interlock games within District 7. Teams travel up to 20 miles for these games.
- Juniors : Ages 13 - 14
- The Juniors division raises the level of competativeness. The players skills are refined and more game tactics are taught. There are approximately 22 regular season games along with post season tournaments. The regular season games are interlock games within District 7 and two other Little League districts. Since there are games with teams from three different districts, the travel required for any particular game may be longer than the 20 miles for Minors and Majors.
